Biography

Monica Lombardi has personally represented military personnel and federal agencies in hundreds of civil and criminal trials or formal administrative/investigative proceedings. During her military career, which spanned almost 20 years of active duty and reserve time, Ms. Lombardi served as defense counsel, legal advisor, recorder and prosecutor. Specifically, she has worked on cases dealing with assault, adultery, indecent language, rape, sodomy, check kiting, forgery, larceny, indecent assault, negligent homicide, child pornography, dereliction of duty, desertion, fraternization, drugs, fraudulent enlistment, state (assimilated) crimes, violations of lawful orders, and false official statements.

Monica Lombardi is a 1990 law school graduate. After graduation, she joined the U. S. Coast Guard, serving on active duty for 9 years. During that time, she served tours as a military prosecutor, defense counsel, government contract attorney and provided legal assistance to hundreds of military personnel. She left active duty and joined the reserves. She was recalled back to active duty after the tragic events of September 11th, and worked directly on Homeland Security issues. She then worked with the U.S. Navy as Chief Trial counsel and then back to the Coast Guard as Chief of military justice in Norfolk, VA.

In the past, she has represented the Department of Transportation in Civil Rights cases, and successfully negotiated several settlements of formal complaints of discrimination for civilian employees. She also represented military members accused of discrimination and successfully got claims dismissed or reduced to administrative censure.
